Belonging in Business Awards

These awards are nominated by the public and employees to recognise the best businesses, embracing Afro hair and working towards eliminating hair discrimination at work. They will be decided by the World Afro Day Directors and the Mastermind Panel. There are three award categories: Multinational Business, SME Business and Black-Owned Business.

Celebrating Afro Inclusion & Identity

We recognise that some companies may be at different stages on this journey but the judges will be looking at intention and leadership in the goal of creating workplaces, where employees can ‘belong’ with Afrocentric hair and thrive in their careers.

We will consider a range of factors: leadership, recruitment, policies, events, communications and everyday employee experiences with Afro hair at work.
