Volunteer Social Media Assistant

About this opportunity:

We’re looking for a Volunteer Social Media Assistant to support with capturing engaging content of World Afro Day’s activities at social events. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experiencing in social media management, for a non-profit organisation.

What you will be doing

  • Attending events alongside the Founder and Directors of World Afro Day.

  • Capturing the activities of the Founder and Directors of World Afro Day at various events. Plus create engaging content using photography and video footage.

  • Managing World Afro Day’s social media channels to promote its activities at events.

  • Working alongside the Social Media Manager to create an on-day social media strategy for events.

Relevant Skills, Competencies and Experience:

  • To be able to communicate effectively and be articulate with strong writing skills.

  • Experience of using social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • An ability to take photos (using a smart phone with a good camera is enough, but using a professional camera is welcomed). Plus record engaging footage to engage WAD’s audience and supporters.

About this opportunity:

We’re looking for a Volunteer Blogger Writer who can create interesting, fun and engaging content that inspires people to engage in World Afro Day’s activities and initiatives. This a great opportunity to gain experiences in content writing for a non-profit organisation.

What you will be doing:

  • Create engaging blog content for World Afro Day’s website based on events and upcoming initiatives.

  • Attending events alongside the Founder and Director of World Afro Day with a view to writing articles about them.

  • Collaborate with the Website Editor and the Social Media Manager to create a content schedule for the World Afro Day’s website and social channels.

Relevant Skills, Competencies and Experience:

  • To be able to communicate effectively, and be articulate with strong writing skills.

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Interest in gaining experience in content writing.
