Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber, have joined forces to launch the first World Afro Day, 15th September 2017, to tackle shocking global hair bias.
World Afro Day also challenge the prejudice that African hair is perceived as unprofessional through the “Careers & Curls” Panel. Also on the day Deshauna will be sharing her own
inspirational story, which saw her go from soldier to beauty queen and from chemical straightening at eight years old to an afro advocate.
