SET A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

"Fix the Law, not our Hair"

We are really excited to be attempting a new Guinness World Record, this World Afro Day, 15th of September 2025. We are inviting everyone to join us in a global teachable moment watching an Afro film and doing an interactive quiz. The record lesson will celebrate the Wonder of Afro hair, Hair & History,  Culture & Systemic change.

The Guinness World Record attempt is for the  “largest cultural awareness lesson in 24 hours.” The lesson is presented by award winning teacher, Genevieve Bent MBE.

The free 30-minute, interactive online lesson is a recording.

  • Participants must log on, as an individual via their laptops or phone.
  • Participants must watch the film and answer the quiz questions and fully complete the 30 minutes session.
  • The record is for the total number of lessons completed within a 24 hour period.

“Guinness World Records applauds the work being done by the World Afro Day team to shine a light on Afro hair discrimination and its mission to flip the narrative to tell a more positive story.” Adam Millward, GWR’s Senior Managing Editor
